Jofra Archer has not met expectations since returning to the England team for the 2024 T20 World Cup. He has taken six wickets in five matches, with a notable performance of 3/12 against Oman. During the toss, England captain Jos Buttler emphasized the team’s intention to ease Archer back into the fold. He stated:

“Obviously want to look after him as well as we can (Jofra). He’s in a good place.”

In contrast, Quinton de Kock showed his form against co-hosts USA, hitting 74 runs off 40 balls. He aims to build on this strong performance.

Quinton De Kock gives South Africa a strong start against England in the 2024 T20 World Cup match

Quinton de Kock’s efficient batting performance propelled South Africa to a superb beginning against defending champions England. This followed the Proteas being instructed to bat first in their opening Super-Eight clash.

As of now, South Africa were 75-0 after eight overs, with openers De Kock (58 off 29) and Reeza Hendricks (14 off 19) batting. Aiden Markram’s South Africa started the tournament strongly by winning all four of their group-stage matches. They aim to maintain their winning momentum in the prestigious ICC event.

Meanwhile, the Jos Buttler-led England team advanced to the Super-Eight stage after Australia defeated Scotland in their final group-stage match. England qualified due to a superior net run rate compared to Scotland.
