Similar to the first Test, Mohammed Siraj made a significant impact for India in Cape Town, removing Aiden Markram for a mere 2 (10). A notable catch in the slip cordon by the young Yashasvi Jaiswal highlighted his potential as a consistent performer in that position.
Following Jasprit Bumrah’s excellent start, Mohammed Siraj maintained the momentum by delivering the right line and length. He induced a straightening delivery from a good length. Similar to Centurion, Markram played along the line but ended up edging the ball.
The ball appeared to be losing its pace towards the third slip, but Yashasvi Jaiswal executed an impressive move to his left. He skillfully got both hands low in time to secure the catch. It was an ideal start that India had wished for, and the young player understandably celebrated the moment with excitement.

Mohammed Siraj contributes to the success by dismissing Elgar
Dean Elgar troubled India in the previous match, with the visitors allowing him to settle by providing easy opportunities. Yet, it appears they have rectified their errors, demonstrating a much-improved performance right from the start in Cape Town.
Dean Elgar survived two close moments where the ball almost got him out, but he was eventually dismissed at 4 (15). He tried to cut a delivery from Mohammed Siraj but ended up chopping it onto his stumps.
Siraj was visibly excited after taking the wicket, considering how important it was for India to get an early breakthrough after losing the toss.
South Africa has lost four wickets, including Tristan Stubbs and Tony de Zorzi, and has only scored 15 runs so far. India is delighted with this positive beginning and aims to further solidify their control.
