Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni celebrated his 42nd birthday on Friday, and he received a special message from legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Dhoni, who led India to victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy, has been receiving birthday wishes from around the world.
Having made his debut for the Indian team in December 2004, Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020.
He became the most successful Indian captain, leading the team to win all three ICC white-ball trophies.
Sachin Tendulkar sent birthday wishes to MS Dhoni on his 42nd birthday
On Dhoni’s birthday, Tendulkar wished him with a special mention of his famous “helicopter shot.”
Tendulkar took to Twitter and wrote, “May you always soar high like your helicopter shots. Happy birthday, MS!”

Dhoni currently plays for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League and recently led the team to their fifth title.
During the IPL 2023 season, the biggest question was whether MS Dhoni would continue playing in IPL 2024.
Dhoni addressed this question after the final game, stating, “Looking for an answer? Given the circumstances, if you observe closely, this is the most opportune moment to declare my retirement.”
“But considering the amount of love and affection I have received this year wherever I have been, the easy thing for me would be to say ‘Thank you very much’. ”
“However, the tough thing for me is to work hard for another 9 months and come back to play at least 1 more season of IPL.”
Dhoni mentioned that the decision would depend on his physical condition, stating, “I have 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side.
“It’s not easy for me, but that’s a gift. The way the fans have shown their love and affection, I feel obligated to do this for them. It does make me emotional since it’s the last phase of my career.”
“It started here, and in my first game, as I walked out, everyone was chanting my name. My eyes welled up, and I stood in the dugout for a while.”
“I realized I want to enjoy this. I had a similar experience in Chennai, where it was my final game, but returning and playing as much as possible would be beneficial.”
