Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar feels that good pitches can make test cricket more intriguing. Sachin attended the Mumbai Half Marathon and during an interview at the sidelines, he shared his views on the same.
“The heart of Test cricket is the kind of surface that you play on. If you provide good pitches, cricket cannot be boring, cricket cannot be damp, and (there will always) be those exciting moments, exciting bowling spells, great batting and that is what people want to see“, said Sachin during the event.

He cited the example of the second Ashes Test that made the audience glued to the television sets. Australia finally managed to draw the game after withstanding the pace of Jofra Archer and Stuart Broad. The former even troubled Steve Smith and his concussion substitute Marnus Labuschagne during the game.
“At Lord”s, they lost almost a day and a half, but the Test match got exciting even on the last day when England picked those wickets and Australia had to survive. Test cricket suddenly became exciting and that is how it should be”, said Sachin.
Sachin Tendulkar also had a lot of praise for Labuschagne who stood up for the team in times of difficulty. He mentioned that his ability to leave the ball at times has impressed him.
The Test Championship
With three test series taking place at the moment, the master says that the test championship is gaining a lot of public attention. The Ashes, The kiwis against Srilanka and the Indian tour of Carribien are making the contest interesting. Though rain interruptions are playing a part, the audience isn”t getting diverted from the same.
“I think Test cricket is going to revive if we produce interesting tracks, but if the tracks are flat and dead then Test cricket is going to find its challenges“, said Sachin.
