Sachin Tendulkar‘s team has addressed a complaint from a neighbor who went on X on May 5 to express frustration over loud construction sounds. Dilip D’Souza, tagging Tendulkar, mentioned that a cement mixer near the cricket icon’s residence in Bandra was causing disturbance both during the day and at night.
He urged the 51-year-old to limit the working hours of those participating in the construction. The original tweet, which gained over 600,000 views on the platform, is as follows:
Dear @sachin_rt, it's nearly 9pm and the cement mixer that's been outside your Bandra home all day making a loud noise is still there, still making a loud noise.
Please could you ask the people working on your home to stick to reasonable hours? Thank you so much.— Dilip D'Souza (@DeathEndsFun) May 5, 2024
Upon acknowledging the complaint, Tendulkar’s team promptly reached out to D’Souza, assuring him that steps were being taken to minimize the noise.
As a followup, I got a very gracious call this afternoon from someone at the office of @sachin_rt. He explained their constraints and the efforts they are making to keep noise to a minimum, and gave me a patient hearing.
Far more than I can say about the other noisemakers here.— Dilip D'Souza (@DeathEndsFun) May 6, 2024
In a separate tweet, D’Souza noted that another construction project had been ongoing since the previous month, with the engineer disregarding their complaints. He emphasized the impact on the elderly and expressed satisfaction with the swift response from Tendulkar’s office.
Ruturaj Gaikwad surpasses Sachin Tendulkar’s IPL run record
During the match on Sunday, May 5, Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), exceeded Sachin Tendulkar’s IPL run count. Gaikwad achieved this by scoring 32 runs off 21 balls, including four fours and a six, against Punjab Kings, contributing to CSK’s total of 167.
Ultimately, CSK secured a victory in the match by 28 runs. With this performance, the right-handed batsman has accumulated 2,338 runs in 63 appearances throughout the league, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s total of 2,334 runs in 78 matches for MI between 2008 and 2013.
Interestingly, both players have claimed the Orange Cap once. Tendulkar achieved this feat by scoring 618 runs in the 2010 season, while Gaikwad achieved it with 635 runs in the 2021 season.
Tendulkar was the first Indian batsman to exceed the 600-run milestone in a single season of the lucrative league.
