The senior selection committee of India’s team has summoned Sai Sudharsan, Harshit Rana, and Jitesh Sharma for the initial two T20Is against Zimbabwe; on the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, Khaleel Ahmed, and Rinku Singh are stuck in Barbados.

The cricketers like Jaiswal, Dube, Samson, Rinku, and Khaleel, who were part of the 2024 T20 World Cup team, but are in Barbados because of the hurricane situation, will join the team; they will fly to India first and then to Harare.

“The Men’s Selection Committee has named Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana as replacements for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first two T20Is against Zimbabwe,” BCCI said.

“Originally slated to join the Zimbabwe-bound squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series starting Saturday, 6th July, the trio will travel to India first with the rest of the ICC T20 World Cup-winning Indian squad before departing for Harare,” read a BCCI media release.

Before I go further, a note must be made on Dube, He was called into the Indian team only a few days before the Zimbabwe tour, replacing the injured all-rounder Nitish Reddy.

The spokesman for the board said that Rinku Singh, a batter, and Khaleel Ahmed, a fast bowler, had not been dropped, as the changes indicated. These players were traveling reserves of the Indian team that was selected for the ICC T20 World Cup.

Samson, Dube, and Jaiswal will now initially travel to India first as a part of the remaining Indian core team that won the ICC T20 World Cup, then to Zimbabwe to join the next five-match T20I series starting on Saturday, July 6.
