The Indian cricketer Sai Sudharsan is scheduled to play two County Championship matches for Surrey. He will participate in a match against Lancashire at The Kia Oval, starting from 22nd August, and also in a contest against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge beginning on 29th August.

In September 2023, the 22-year-old had already played two County Championship matches for Surrey where he accumulated 116 runs which included a half-century. In their earlier County match against Essex, he was also included in the side during June 2024. On Wednesday, August 21, Surrey County Cricket Club announced Sai Sudharsan’s availability via a post on X, stating:

“Sai Sudharsan back to Surrey. There We Land! Sai is available for the next two @Countychamp matches vs Lance & Notts.”

Sai Sudharsan was most recently seen playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. He made his T20I debut for India against Zimbabwe in July whereas he had made his ODI debut last December during the series versus South Africa. The left-handed batsman has shone across three ODI innings scoring 127 runs, with two of those being half-centuries.

2024 IPL season saw Sudarshan perform really well with Gujarat Titans who scored 527 runs from 12 innings at an average of 47.91 and strike rate of 141.29 respectively. Moreover, he also hit a ton against the Chennai Super Kings.

Sai Sudharsan will play for Team C in the Duleep Trophy

The Duleep Trophy which is the start of the 2024-25 Indian domestic season has been scheduled for September 5. Ruturaj Gaikwad has topped Team C, where Sai Sudharsan and Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy are dominating the situation.

The left handed batsman has appeared in 18 first-class games and has racked up an impressive total of 1144 runs with three centuries as his milestones so far. At this age of only 22 years, he will be looking to assert himself as a strong candidate for India red ball cricket.
