Australian cricketer Sam Konstas has recently looked back at his special debut Test series, which included facing Indian stars Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. His charming knock of fifty on Boxing Day at the Melbourne Cricket Ground made him a star cricket when he was just 19 years old. Konstas referred to having the opportunity to play for a crowd of 90,000 people as a dream that came true.

While the fire was on the cricket field, especially during the Sydney Test, there was a lovely moment off it between Konstas and Kohli. The Australian cricketer’s first series proved to be a trial by fire, but he showed a great deal of maturity for a first-timer.

The exposure that Konstas receives while being able to play against the world’s greatest will certainly help him in any future cricketing endeavor. And as he keeps on securing more promotions, the fans will be keenly keeping an eye on him.

In an extensive interview with CODE Sports, the 19-year-old disclosed that he spoke with Kohli in Melbourne following the game and informed the 36-year-old that he looked up to him.

“I had a little chat after the game telling him that I idolise him, and it is obviously a huge honour playing against him,” Konstas said.

“When I did verse him, I was like, ‘wow, Virat Kohli is batting.’ He just had that presence about him, all the Indian crowd getting amongst it. Chanting his name. It was quite surreal,” he added.
