Sam Konstas Gives A Clever Response To An Indian Fan’s Virat Kohli Poster In Sydney

The banter between Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) has added excitement to the series. Following the shoulder-check incident at the MCG, Konstas won the crowd, while Australian fans shifted their support away from Kohli.

Konstas has become known for engaging with the crowd, energizing them and boosting their spirits while fielding. At his home ground, the SCG, he continued this approach, encouraging his fellow New South Welshmen to get involved as India began their batting innings.

However, Konstas eventually found himself fielding in front of a predominantly Indian crowd, who were loudly supporting the batting team. Despite this, Konstas remained a good sport, attempting to entertain the fans, including one in particular holding a large “King Kohli” sign.

Broadcast cameras captured Konstas noticing the sign and responding with a round of applause, aiming to energize the crowd. The 19-year-old has proven to be a lively and carefree personality, quickly becoming a new favorite in Australian cricket.

Tensions ease between Kohli and Konstas

The Konstas-Kohli clash ended earlier this week when they posed for a photo at Kirribilli House. Fans had noticed Konstas calling Kohli his favorite batter, and the photo reassured them that their rivalry was limited to the field.

Kohli had also taken a picture with Konstas’ brothers in Sydney, suggesting that all parties had moved on from the widely discussed incident.

Konstas was back in action early during the New Year’s Test at the SCG, taking a catch off KL Rahul from Mitchell Starc to kickstart the hosts’ efforts in their bid for a first Border-Gavaskar Trophy win in ten years. India went into the tea break at 107-4, facing tough conditions in Sydney.
