Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has been in the headlines in recent times after BCCI scrapped him from IPL 2020 commentary panel. Recently, Manjrekar once again faces fans wrath for calling Ambati Rayudu and Piyush Chawla ‘low-profile cricketers’.
Incidentally, the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League was off to a flier. Defending champions Mumbai Indians went down to Chennai Super Kings by five wickets in a thrilling encounter. Chennai’s new recruit Sam Curran and Piyush Chawla made significant contributions besides Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis’ match-winning partnership.

Batting first, Mumbai could only manage 162 runs after a great start provided by Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock. Hardik Pandya and Saurabh Tiwary continued the onslaught but Chennai Super Kings pulled the brakes at the right time.
They took 7 for 64 in the second half of the innings. If their ground fielding was any better, Mumbai India would have found it difficult to even cross 150. Piyush Chawla and Sam Curran started the good work for Chennai which was finished by Lungi Ngidi.
Sanjay Manjrekar faces the wrath of fans
Meanwhile, Chennai were in a spot of bother during their run chase losing two quick wickets. But Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis shared a crucial partnership to seal the deal. Rayudu contributed with 71 while du Plessis remained unbeaten on 58 runs to seal the deal.
Soon after the game, Sanjay Manjrekar took to social media site Twitter to congratulate Chennai Super Kings. Praising the Super Kings, Manjrekar called Piyush Chawla and Ambati Rayudu low profile cricketers.
“So happy for two pretty low profile cricketers Piyush Chawla and Ambati Rayudu. Chawla was sensational with the ball. Bowled the 5th & 16th over too. Rayudu..well…one of the best IPL innings from him based on quality of shots played! Well done CSK #IPL2020,” Sanjay Manjrekar tweeted.

Sir your assessment of the individuals game today is worth it but then adding a term "low profile" was it necessary?if we say in a cricket match a "low profile" commentator Mr. Sanjay Manjrekar did some great commentary would you like it? How will you feel sir? @RayuduAmbati

I mean they are pretty low profile…they haven't got the attention they deserve yet.

Cmon dingy folks down here… I was also one of the ppl who was harsh about some of Sanjay's remarks last year…. But honestly there's nothing wrong about 'low-profile', it's very clear what he meant and it only adds value to his actual appreciation of the two players…

I know you don't want to hurt any cricketer using a word like 'low profile' but it hurts as a fan. Cricket is not all about the misunderstand or abusive language. Please keep the tweets wisely. 🤗
