Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka sought to stop speculations of a rift between him and his IPL team’s captain, KL Rahul, by inviting him to his home. The photo of Goenka hugging Rahul went viral on the internet on Tuesday.
In case you missed it, Goenka was seen publicly blasting Rahul after Lucknow’s humiliating defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) a few days prior.
It appeared like Goenka was furious with Rahul. Rahul listened to his owner’s tirade with obvious silence. Millions of people saw the video as Indian supporters expressed their annoyance at Goenka for not treating an Indian international player with the respect they deserved.
Rumors that Rahul would be leaving LSG at the end of the current season began to circulate after the event. Rahul’s wife, Athiya Shetty, shared an Instagram Story with a sunset photo and the words “the calm after the storm” in it.
