Saurabh Netravalkar, a former Indian Under-15 cricketer, has an inspiring story. Despite working as a full-time engineer, he now plays for the USA national team. Netravalkar reminisces about his days playing alongside Suryakumar Yadav in the Under-15 team. He admires Yadav’s skills and remembers how determined he was even back then. Facing India in the World Cup is a huge opportunity for Netravalkar to make his mark on the international stage.
“Few other people like Surya and all whom I have grown up with, played U-15 with them. It would be nice to see them and share a stage to perform. Looking forward to it, just excited, can’t express my feelings. Since Under-15 days we knew this guy is something. He used to smash everybody. In group cricket as well he used to hit big hundreds.”
“We knew he would do something special. Really happy for him, the way he has come up and set the stage on fire,” Saurabh Netravalkar said as quoted by India Today. “Once (playing against Kohli) but I have bowled to Rohit Sharma in Mumbai nets. They are inspirational people. The journeys have also been inspirational,” he added.

Before joining the USA cricket team, Saurabh Netravalkar shared an interesting tidbit about his past experiences. He mentioned that he had the opportunity to bowl to the Indian cricket team captain, Rohit Sharma, during practice sessions in Mumbai.
Specifically, he recalled a moment when he was bowling to Rohit while the Mumbai Indians team was training. Netravalkar described Rohit as an inspirational figure, indicating the impact the encounter had on him.
Speaking of Netravalkar’s recent achievements, he showcased his bowling prowess in a thrilling match against Pakistan. During the Super Over, he bowled 19 overs and only conceded 13 runs, managing to secure a crucial wicket. This exceptional performance played a significant role in the USA’s victory, highlighting Netravalkar’s skill and composure under pressure.
