The number 13 ranked One-day international team Scotland proved their worth by beating the number 1 ODI team in England by 6 runs in a high scoring thriller played at Edinburgh just finished a few moments ago.
England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to field first. Great hitting by Scotland batsmen helped them to post a massive total. While chasing, England looked well in control but could not go past the winning line.

After the power play overs, both Scotland openers continued their aggressive approach. Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer reached his half-century off 44 balls. Both Cross and Coetzer added 103 runs for the first wicket in just 13.4 overs to set up a solid foundation for Scotland batsmen. 4 runs later, MH Cross was dismissed for 48.
CS MacLeod and Berrington put up 93 runs stand for the 3rd wicket. MacLeod played with positive intent smashing the England bowlers to all parts. MacLeod reached his half-century off 36 balls while Munsey took time and then smashed the England bowlers. Munsey too reached his 50 off 50 balls. MacLeod completed his century off 70 balls.

DE Budge and MacLeod added 53 runs for the 5th wicket. MacLeod remained not out on 140 off 94 balls. Scotland posted their highest ever total in ODI cricket of 371 for 5 in 50 overs.
Chasing the massive target of 372, England openers Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy got the team off to flying start. Jonny Bairstow reached his half-century off 27 balls. At the end of 10 overs, England scored 107 for 0.
After the power play overs, Watt got the important breakthrough dismissing Jason Roy for 34. Jonny Bairstow continued his aggressive intent and reached his century off 54 balls to give a solid foundation for England. The centurion Bairstow was dismissed for 105.
Alex Hales also contributed with his aggressive hitting coming at number 3. Hales and Root added 55 runs for the 3rd wicket. Joe Root made 29 while Eoin Morgan contributed 20 runs. Hales reached his half-century off 52 balls.
Joe Root, England captain Eoin Morgan, Alex Hales, Sam Billings and David Willey were dismissed in quick succession to be in trouble at 276 for 7. Moeen Ali and Liam Plunkett did not lose hope playing with positive intent. Both of them added 71 runs for the 8th wicket. Moeen Ali played a poor stroke scoring 46 runs.

Adil Rashid was run out with a brilliant throw. With 7 runs required, Sharif dismissed Mark Wood to pull off a stunning 6 run win for Scotland.
