Sharjeel issued an apology that read, “I offer my unconditional apology to the PCB, my teammates, fans and family for the irresponsible conduct that brought embarrassment to everyone.

The rehabilitation period will commence in a few days” time for Sharjeel Khan. This period involves attending lectures from PCB”s Anti-Corruption unit. However, in all likelihood he will not be a part of the immediate Pakistan tour as the process might take a few months.

The 30-year old represented Pakistan in 41 games across all three formats. He amassed over 1200 runs combined which came at a very healthy strike-rate.

On the other hand, it will be interesting to see where he would cement his spot. The opening combination of Imam-Ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman has been doing the things well for the side. With Sharjeel”s return, a renovation might take place to build a stronger side.
