The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has locked one and all in their homes. Most parts of the world are practising social distancing to curb the spread of the deadly virus. As a result, the current and former cricketers are no exception to this lockdown. They have resorted to social media engagement with their fans to bite their time.
Since it broke out in China, the COVID-19 has taken away over 97000 lives across the world. Italy, Spain, United States of America, and China are the most affected countries with the death toll increasing with each passing day. In India also, the numbers have gone up drastically in the last few days.

Amid the lockdown, Team India all-rounder Shikhar Dhawan interacted with his fans and took part in a Q/A session on Instagram, where one of the users asked Dhawan about his favourite batting partner. Unsurprisingly, Dhawan came up with Rohit Sharma’s name, his opening partner in ODIs and T20Is.

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have been opening for India in the limited-overs for almost seven years now. They have combinedly scored 4847 from 109 innings in ODIs. They took up the job since the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and have done a great job so far. Both Rohit and Dhawan have opened in six ICC tournaments so far.
However, with Dhawan’s form with the bat witnessing a dip, Rohit Sharma is likely to have a new opening pair in the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 to follow in Australia later this year. KL Rahul, who has shown exceptional consistency is likely to partner Rohit.
