Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar was a threat to every batting line-up during his career. The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ earned the reputation of being the quickest fast bowler during his days. He made an impact in his debut match against India at Kolkata when he sent Sachin Tendulkar to the pavilion on the very first ball. After that incident, Akhtar’s rivalry with Tendulkar grew and he always wanted to dominate the ‘God of Cricket’.
Once Virender Sehwag became a regular feature in the India squad, he tasted success against Pakistan. Sehwag has a staggering Test match record against Pakistan. In 2004, he smashed the first-ever triple hundred by an Indian batsman against the arch-rivals in Multan. Several years ago Sehwag recalled a famous sledging episode during an award show involving Akhtar.
Akhtar rubbishes Sehwag’s ‘Bap Bap Hota Hain’ Story
Newly when PakPassion editor; Saj Sadiq asked Shoaib Akhtar about Virender Sehwag saying something to him relevant to Tendulkar, Akhtar replied that if anything like that would have occurred, he would have beaten Sehwag on the ground itself.
Sadiq tweeted, “Question: Sehwag said something to you about Tendulkar, (referring to the Beta beta hota hai, baap baap hota hai story) Shoaib Akhtar “Would he survive after saying something like that to me? Would I leave him? I would beat him up at the ground and then at the hotel”.

Apparently Virender Sehwag was batting at around 200 and the Pakistan fast bowler was frustrated about not getting him out. He then started bowling bouncers at both Sehwag and tried to get him off guard verbally. Sehwag claims he told Akhtar to ask Sachin Tendulkar, who was batting at the other end, to play the hook shot instead.
“Woh tera baap khada hai samne non-striking end pe, uss ko bol woh mar ke dikhayega,” Sehwag allegedly told Akhtar.
As soon as Sachin Tendulkar struck a boundary, Sehwag immediately reminded Akhtar, “Baap Baap Hota Hai”.
