Shubman Gill, a young player from India who was included in the traveling reserves for the T20 World Cup in 2024, was cut from the team mid-tournament without a formal reason given.
While rumors were circulating regarding potential disciplinary issues, Gill has recently been concentrating on rigorously getting ready for the next trip of Zimbabwe.
Rather than going back to India, Shubman Gill has been observed relaxing in Los Angeles. He was recently spotted cheering on Brazil vs. Costa Rica during the Copa America 2024 match at SoFi Stadium.
But despite the hiatus, he hasn’t slowed down. Gill has been observed increasing his workout as he gets ready for the forthcoming visit of Zimbabwe, where he will lead the Indian squad in a five-match Twenty20 International series.
Gill is seen running on the sidelines of what looks to be an American football field in a widely shared video, demonstrating that he takes his duties seriously.

The BCCI officially announced the team on Monday night and Shubman Gill will be the Indian T20 captain in the Zimbabwe series after the T20 World Cup 2024.
His preparedness was an indication of his interest in being the main leader of the team. This series will be Gill’s first as captain and the matches are scheduled in Harare from the 6th to the 14th of July. These are India’s fourth T20 featured bilateral series in Zimbabwe and their 10th T20 series in total, following the stale series in the Nelson Complex and three previous tours in Zimbabwe in 2010, 2015, and 2016.
Being a famous and key team member, Gill has to step up to the occasion and lead his team to clinch this important series.
Everybody will be watching how he goes about this new job to find out how he will coordinate the team in Zimbabwe.
