Team India skipper Virat Kohli congratulated the Shikhar Dhawan-led as they clinched a thrilling win in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Chasing 276 runs, the Men in Blue were in a spot of bother before Deepak Chahar produced a batting masterclass to lead India to victory.
Meanwhile, India were in a spot of bother losing all their top batsmen with 100+ runs still required to cross the line. Although it looked difficult, the cricketers believed in themselves and the result is there for everyone to see.
Deepak Chahar stitched two crucial partnerships – 33 with Krunal Pandya and unbeaten 84 with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to take India home. As soon as Deepak Chahar hit the winning runs for India in the first ball of the last over, Kohli took to Twitter to express his feelings.

With the ODI series already sealed, the Rahul Dravid-led think tank might give the youngsters an opportunity to express themselves in the third ODI. The likes of Devdutt Padikkal, Chetan Sakariya, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Varun Chakravarthy, and Krishnappa Gowtham are yet to make their debut and will look forward to an opportunity in the final match of the ODI leg.
The third match will take place on July 23 (Friday) at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo
Virat Kohli misses warm-game due to back injury
Meanwhile, the squad in England is currently playing a warm-up game against Durham’s select County Championship XI at the Riverside Ground. Kohli complained of a stiff back and thus, was rested.
“Captain Virat Kohli felt some stiffness in his back on late Monday evening and he has been advised rest from the three-day first-class warm-up game by the BCCI Medical Team,” BCCI said in a statement.
Ajinkya Rahane also missed the tie due to an injury and Rohit Sharma led the side. India ended on 306/9 banking on a KL Rahul century after an early top-order collapse.
