Team India skipper Hardik Pandya isn’t worried following the T20I series loss against West Indies. He has faith in the long process and also added that the players are committed. The Indian team lost 3-2 in the five-match series after losing the fifth T20I by eight wickets on Sunday, August 13 in Florida.

India won the two-match Test series against West Indies 1-0. However, they faced stern challenges in the limited-overs phase of the tour. India won the ODI series 2-1 but lost the five-match T20I series. West Indies won the first two matches and the decider to clinch the trophy. Indian skipper Hardik Pandya shared his thoughts on the loss. He said,

“In hindsight, one series here and there is fine, it’s a long process which I don’t think we need to explain but within the group, I know how the boys are committed towards the goal. That is something which is very exciting.”

“It’s a long way. Next, we have the ODI World Cup coming up. And sometimes losing is good, it teaches you a lot, and doesn’t cover up your mess. There is a lot of learning,” he added.

I follow my gut: Hardik Pandya on criticism regarding his captaincy

Team India skipper Hardik Pandya faced criticism from fans and experts for some of his on-field calls, mainly the bowling changes throughout the series. The all-rounder shared that he follows his gut feeling on the field and goes ahead with the option which he believes is better for the team.

“It is what I feel at that moment, I don’t plan much about it. If I see a situation and believe that which is the better option, I generally prefer that. It’s not rocket science, I follow my gut,” said Hardik Pandya.

After a month-long tour in the Caribbean, Team India will head to Ireland for a three-match T20I series. It kicks off on August 18 at The Village in Dublin. India will be led by pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who is making a comeback to the team.
