Into the all important finals between New Hind Sporting Club and Navroz Cricket Club at Cross Maidan, New Hind SC opting to bat first were least aware about the trouble they were going to encounter as Mumbai U14 spinner Nishit Balla made life miserable for the opposition. Left arm spinner’s Nishit’s spell of 5 wkts/4 runs in 6.3 overs coupled with 4 maidens ensured New Hind’s hopes of winning the finals were severely damaged. Apart from him, Hrishikesh Gore and Sanskar Panaskar chipped in with 2 wkts each.
Chasing 53 became a mere formality for the Navroz boys as they went on to win the game by 9 wkts. Navroz CC chased down the score in just 18.4 overs with opener Aarush Patankar remaining unbeaten on 24* while Omkar Patankar who came at no.3 gave the helping hand to the opener scoring 18* off 55 balls.
With this win, Navroz CC become the champions of Khelomore Junior Cup.
