The much-awaited India tour of Sri Lanka finally started on 18th July at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. India entered the match as favorites to win and was expected to dominate the match. Eventually, everything happened as expected because India won the game comfortably. Shikhar Dhawan led side defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets with 80 balls remaining.
India will once again enter in the 2nd ODI game as favorites to win the match. Adding to it India will be full of confidence after defeating neighbors in a one-sided encounter. India found many positives in the first ODI match which will help the team a lot in the 2nd game.

The two biggest positives for Shikhar Dhawan’s led side are the return of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal and the explosive batting of youngsters. Youngsters Prithvi Shaw and Ishan Kishan batted aggressively against the fragile Lankan bowling unit. Also, 30-year-old Suryakumar Yadav batted with a strike rate of 155. Meanwhile, captain Dhawan was seen at his best in the match, he played the role of anchor in the team. Shikhar remained not out at the score of 86 handing the victory to the Indian team.
Meanwhile on the other side, the positive for the team will be their batting. Many Sri Lankan batsmen got the start scoring 20-30 runs. However, the negative aspect of this is they were unable to convert good starts into big scores. The highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka was Chamika Karunaratne 43 (35) other than him nobody crossed the 40runs mark.
Also on the bowling side, Wanindu Hasaranga was the most economical bowler for the team. Adding to it he will be expected to pick some wickets in the 2nd ODI game.
