The Rohit Sharma injury saga has become a dramatic situation in Indian cricket. He suffered a grade 2 hamstring injury as per the BCCI medical team. He missed four matches for Mumbai Indians and came back to play the last league match with reports of him being not fully fit. Meanwhile, he was not included in any of the Indian squads for the Australia series, owing to his fitness issues. But now his return has left the BCCI confused. Meanwhile, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar said that Rohit’s return was a message to the BCCI that he is fit and has no injury concerns.
Talking to Sports Tak, Gavaskar explained his take on the matter. He said that Rohit playing the game was a message to the BCCI that is fit and does not have any injury concerns.

“He played the match to show that he is fit but if BCCI wants to test his fitness again, then there is nothing wrong in it. Because they want to check if he is fully fit or not” said Gavaskar.

He further said that whatever the matter is, Rohit’s return is a good sign for Indian cricket. “Whatever has transpired earlier with regards to his (Rohit) injury, keeping that aside, I would say it’s a great news for Indian cricket that Rohit Sharma is fit. The concern shown by everyone collectively that there could be a rupture (if he hurries his return) is a valid one. But he looked confident. He fielded at the boundary ropes and also in the 30-yard circle. “
Earlier Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri kept their opinion on Rohit’s fitness as well. Both of them said his injury should not be rushed with as he is an important part of the current Indian squad.
Rohit himself stated at the toss against SRH that he is fully fit. Meanwhile, he will be assessed by the BCCI in the remaining IPL games for Mumbai which will help them take a better stand on the matter.
