Chennai Super Kings southpaw Suresh Raina has confirmed his participation for the second half of IPL 2021. The BCCI in its Special General Meeting (SGM) announced that the remaining 31 matches will be played in the UAE between September-October. The season will start sometime in between September16-20 and the final will be played on October 10. Meanwhile, CSK won five out of their first seven games in the first half of the season.
The ECB has already announced that none of their players will be available for the remaining season. Star Australian players like David Warner and Pat Cummins too will not be available with the latter confirming his unavailability.
Suresh Raina Available For Second Half Of IP 2021
Suresh Raina has confirmed his availability via a tweet. “See you soon Dubai @msdhoni @IPL @ChennaiIPL” Raina tweeted with a picture of him and MS Dhoni. Raina who missed the IPL 2020 due to personal reasons was retained by the franchise ahead of the start of IPL 2021. He scored just 123 runs in seven games in the first half of the season.

His form will be decisive for his team in the second half of the season. CSK might also miss out on a few of their overseas players. The likes of Sam Curran and Moeen Ali will remain absent with the ECB already announcing the unavailability of their players. Dwayne Bravo and Imran Tahir too might be unavailable with the CPL going on at the same time. However, the availability of Indian players in all squads remains intact.
Raina lost a bit of form after scoring a fifty against Delhi Capitals in CSK’s opening game, In the next six, he scored just 69 with Moeen Ali batting at number three. However, now with Ali missing, Raina might be back to batting at number three for the side.
