As India look to fight back after two straight defeats, former cricketer Aakash Chopra has predicted two changes in India’s playing XI for the Afghanistan clash on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi. The men in blues currently languish at the fifth spot, one ahead of Scotland.
Chopra stated that young leg-spinner Rahul Chahar should be included in the squad for Varun Chakravarthy. The ‘mystery spinner’ has looked pretty ordinary in the first two matches of the T20 World Cup. Aakash Chopra also batted for the inclusion of Suryakumar Yadav.
Taking to Twitter he wrote:
“I’ll make 2 changes to the playing XI today if SKY is fit & available. If not, one change in the XI & one tactical. Rahul Chahar in place of Varun C (Chakravarthy), SKY in place of Ishan…if SKY is unavailable, Ishan to bat in the middle order.”

Incidentally, India had suffered a 10-wicket loss to Pakistan in their opening game of the campaign, before conceding an 8-wicket defeat to Kane Williamson’s side last Sunday. They will now have to win all their remaining games by a massive margin and hope the New Zealand and Afghanistan spill points to progress through to the semifinal.
India have no option other than sticking with Hardik Pandya – Aakash Chopra
The cricketer-turned-commentator stated that Team India have no option but to stick with Hardik Pandya. Speaking on his Youtube channel, Aakash Chopra explained:
“Hardik Pandya has started to bowl a little. He scored 23 runs off 23 balls as well. Once again, there aren’t too many options available. It is not that Venkatesh Iyer is sitting outside and he will come and hit a lot, he is not there in the team.”
