The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 schedule on Friday, January 5. The tournament is set to take place from June 1, 2024, in the West Indies and the United States of America. The final will take place on June 29.
The twenty participating teams have been divided into four groups of five. The top two teams in each of the groups will move to a Super Eights phase, where the remaining sides split into two groups of four. The hosts United States of America (USA) will kick off the tournament with the opening game against Canada. Both the teams, along with Uganda will be making their maiden appearance at the Men’s T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, India is in Group A with Pakistan, Ireland, the USA, and Canada. They will kick off their campaign against Ireland on June 5. India will take on their arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9 in New York. Following this, they will play against the United States of America (USA) on June 12 in New York.
India will play their final group-stage game Canada on June 15 in Florida. Meanwhile, the defending champions, England, are in Group B along with Australia, Namibia, Scotland and Oman.
