ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is scheduled to take place in October-November. Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal feels that the Pakistan team will have an advantage in the upcoming global tournament.
While speaking with the YouTube channel ‘My Master Cricket Coach’, Kamran Akmal explained why Pakistan will have an edge over the others.
“Pakistan should have the advantage in the T20 World Cup. We’ve played international cricket for 9 to 10 years in the UAE. That makes Pakistan the most experienced side under the conditions,” he said.

UAE has hosted several T20 tournaments, over the years. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) was recently held in Abu Dhabi. Kamran Akmal feels that as many foreign players participate in T20 leagues, they would also get benefitted from the experience of playing in the UAE.
“Not only players from India and Pakistan but from other countries will also benefit since a lot of them play in both PSL and IPL.”
Kamran Akmal added that Afghanistan could also prove to be dangerous as the tournament will be held in the UAE. He said:
“Given the conditions in the UAE, Afghanistan can also prove to be a dangerous side, looking at the players that they have. So, it is difficult to pick a favourite.”
T20 World Cup shifted to UAE
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has communicated its decision to shift the T20 World Cup to UAE. Rising COVID cases in the nation and the possibility of a third wave has forced BCCI to take this decision.
