Known for his unique technique Shivnarine Chanderpaul, his son Tagenarine Chanderpaul produced a magical century on the 2nd day of the day-night warm-up game against Prime Minister XI on 24 November 2022.
Ahead of the two Test match series against hosts Australia from 30th November, West Indies played a 4-day warm-up match against Prime Minister at Canberra. It was an impressive bowling performance by Alazzari Joseph took 4 wickets while Roston Chase grabbed 2 wickets. Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Raymon Reifer, and Kyle Mayers took 1 wicket each to bowl out Prime Minister XI for 322 on the 2nd day.
Tagenarine Chanderpaul opened the innings along with West Indies captain Kraigg Braithwaite. Kraigg Braithwaite and Chanderpaul added 94 runs for the opening wicket laying a strong foundation for a solid total. Booner, Devon Thomas, and Kyle Mayers fell cheaply as the visitors lost wickets in quick succession. Chanderpaul looked impressive with solid technique making the batting look easy.
It was an impressive batting performance by Tagenarine Chanderpaul playing according to the merit of the ball and keeping Prime Minsters’ bowlers at bay. He completed a well complied century and was dismissed off the last delivery off day 2 by Joel Paris caught Inglis. He scored 119 off 293 balls with 13 fours and 1 six. West Indies ended the day on 234 for 7 still trailing by 88 runs.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul made headlines with his sublime form
Tagenarine Chanderpaul was a part of the Test series against Bangladesh in June this year but did not get a chance to bat. With John Campbell suspended for four years, Tangerine is likely to open with Kraigg Braithwaite in the opening Test match against Australia to be played on 30th November at Optus Stadium, Perth.
He produced goods in the domestic season with 439 runs from 8 innings at an amazing average of 73.16. West Indies would take on Australia in 2 match Test series to be played on Australian soil.
The first Test will be played on 30th November at Optus Stadium, Perth while the 2nd Test will be a day-night affair at Adelaide Oval on 8th December. These two Test matches are part of the 2021-23 ICC Test Championship cycle.
