India‘s Test and ODI captain, Rohit Sharma, was recently spotted following a Cooch Behar Trophy match in Mumbai. Reports indicated that the 37-year-old watched the game between Mumbai and Jammu & Kashmir at BKC.
On Thursday, November 14, the official Instagram account ‘team45ro’ posted a video of Rohit engaging in an intense workout session, where he was also seen running and pausing to follow the match’s progress.
There is still uncertainty about Rohit’s availability for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth, starting November 22, as he has stayed home for the birth of his second child, while the rest of the team practices in Australia.

According to a report in the Times of India, Rohit Sharma trained at the Reliance Corporate Park on Wednesday, November 13. The report also mentioned that the Indian captain has been utilizing both the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) facilities and RCP for his training sessions.
Regarding his travel to Australia, he is expected to make a decision after the birth of his second child.
“There is no clarity yet on his departure. It all depends on how things unfold on the personal front. He is doing what any father would at this stage, which is to stay with his wife and family.”
”But at the same time, he is ensuring to be well-tuned for the Test series and will be batting at every possible opportunity in Mumbai,” a source quoted TOI as saying.
Under Rohit’s captaincy, India experienced a 3-0 defeat to New Zealand in a three-match Test series at home. This marked the first instance of an Indian team being whitewashed in a home Test series of three or more matches. The previous loss came in 2000, when India was beaten 2-0 by South Africa in a two-match series.
Rohit Sharma’s batting form remains a concern
There are increasing concerns about Rohit Sharma’s batting form, particularly in the red-ball format. In 11 Test matches this year, the right-handed batter has accumulated 588 runs at an average of 29.40, including two centuries and two fifties.
However, in his last 10 Test innings, the Indian captain has managed only one score above fifty. During the three-match Test series against New Zealand, Rohit’s scores were 2, 52, 0, 8, 18, and 11.
