15th August 1947 marks that auspicious day when the Indians break free from the shackles of the British led India and establishing their own government. From then on 15th August is celebrated as the Independence Day where all Indians host their tricolor national flag to show their love for all the martyrs who have died fighting the war with the British army.
Yesterday marked the 71st Independence Day of India where all the citizens of India came together to celebrate. The Indian Cricket Team currently in Sri Lanka also celebrated the Independence Day led by their captain Virat Kohli and their head coach Ravi Shastri In Kandy where they are training hard before the start of the one-day series.
BCCI recently posted a video on Twitter where the Indian captain was seen hoisting the national flag accompanied by Ravi Shastri which was followed by the national anthem. All the players were present there to attend the ritual and were seen clapping at the end of the national anthem. The video was captioned by, “#TeamIndia gathered at Kandy to hoist the tricolor on the occasion of Independence Day #IndependenceDayIndia.”
