Team India, gearing up in New York for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, expressed dissatisfaction with the ‘ordinary’ training amenities offered to them at Cantiague Park, as per a Thursday report by News18.

On Wednesday, Rohit Sharma & Co commenced their training sessions, but the team, along with head coach Rahul Dravid, appears dissatisfied with the practice amenities in the US.

The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, slated to host India’s warm-up game and three group matches, allegedly lacks practice facilities, leading the Indian team to utilize the Cantiague Park as an interim training venue.

The report stated that the team also expressed dissatisfaction with the venue’s food arrangements, prompting concerns about this issue.

“Everything is makeshift – from pitches to other facilities. Safe to say everything is very average in nature. The team has raised their concerns,” a source close to developments told News18.

The report also mentioned that upon being contacted for a response, the International Cricket Council (ICC) stated that they had not received any concerns or complaints from the Indian team regarding this matter.

“There has been no complaint or concern expressed regarding the practice facilities at Cantiague Park by any team,” the report stated the ICC as saying.

Previously, the ICC had designated Cantiague Park as the official team training facility. However, this facility is located quite a distance away from the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, where the matches are scheduled to take place. India is scheduled to play their sole warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1.

India’s Group A matches against Ireland, Pakistan, and USA will take place at the Nassau Stadium before they head to Florida for their last group game against Canada.
