Travis Head is an Australian cricketer who has an impressive record against India. Recently, he gave his thoughts on the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series. Surprising as it may sound, Head admitted in a Star Sports interview that India is not his favourite team.
This is after he had won crucial centuries during the 2023 World Test Championship and ODI World Cup Finals which contributed much towards Australia’s victory. Although one would expect those comments from Head to be outrageous due to his display against India, they reveal that he is concentrated on what lies ahead.
The fierce rivalry and mutual respect between the two teams are highlighted by Head’s comments as Australia gets ready for the five-test series. His words set the stage for an intriguing series in which Australia and Head hope to capitalize on their recent victories against a formidable Indian team.
“I don’t feel like they’re my favorite” – Travis Head
Australia’s star player, Travis Head, expressed his opinions about the impending five-test Border-Gavaskar series. Head stated that although he has an outstanding record versus the Indian squad, they are not his “favorite” opponent. He stated these things in a Star Sports interview.
“I don’t feel like they’re my favorite. I just feel like we play them enough, play them lots. And, I guess the last couple of years I’ve been in nice form. So yeah, being able to, to play well, it’s always nice. It’s a, I guess it’s not hard to get up for the contest. It’s hugely competitive. Yeah, it’s easier to get up for the game. So I wouldn’t say they’re my favorite,” Head said.
“They’re extremely difficult but it’s been nice to play well in a couple of games and looking forward to preparing well and being ready to go and let’s look, hope hopefully I can, I can contribute to what’s a successful summer for us” Travis Head added.
Head is currently playing T20I cricket for Australia. After winning the series against Scotland, he was crucial to the team’s victory in the opening Twenty20 international against England.
