Satish Pandey, a member of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), recounted heartwarming moments from his meaningful conversation with ex-Indian skipper MS Dhoni at Ranchi Airport’s VIP lounge on Sunday, August 27. Pandey’s letter, now widely circulated on social media, details his fortunate skip of the queue to meet Dhoni.

He was deeply moved by Dhoni’s humility evident in his ‘kind smile’ and the handshake that left him with goosebumps. Pandey posed questions to the cricket icon about staying composed and managing life’s challenges, among other topics.

“In discussing challenges, he revealed his unwavering spirit: ‘The never-lose-hope feature is inbuilt in me as a sportsman.’ This statement encapsulated his resilience and determination,” Pandey wrote in the letter.

His initial query revolved around how he maintained his composure regardless of victory or defeat. He continued, “Dhoni’s reply was profound yet simple: ‘I just want to enjoy that moment because I know this moment will not come again in life. I want to live it.

Pandey penned that the captain of Chennai Super Kings also counselled him to release matters beyond his control. Additionally, he imparted a priceless teaching on managing the challenges of a swiftly moving world.

“He mentioned that, contrary to the earlier belief of being attentive to everything, staying calm and composed now involves selectively ignoring things because if we will respond to everything our brain will stop working as there are many battles are open in a humans life.

Pandey mentioned that he also grasped the significance of self-improvement for sustaining inner tranquility. He concluded by describing him as an individual with a ‘heart of gold’.

MS Dhoni has had a past affiliation with CISF

Last year, the 42-year-old, holding the honorary position of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army, participated in CISF’s 75th Independence Day event in Ranchi.

During the event, he interacted with the families of certain officers. He also attended an interactive event of the CISF Unit ASG Chennai in April 2023.
