Team India are all set to travel to South Africa for the upcoming series, which is comprised of Tests and ODIs, starting from December 26. Meanwhile, a lot of injury scares and Kohli’s participation in the ODI series left everyone in the puzzle. However, Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli has addressed the media and clarified his side as well.
He has said that he will be available for the three-match ODI series and he had never asked for a break too, which is different to media reports as well. He also revealed that he came to know of Rohit Sharma replacing him as ODI captain just one and a half-hour before the announcement.
“I was contacted one-and-a-half hour before selection for Tests. The chief selector discussed with me the Test. Before the call ended I was told that the 5 selectors have decided that I won’t be ODI captain anymore. There was no prior communication about this,” Virat Kohli said in the press conference.
