“This Is The National Team, Not A Personal Possession” – Tabraiz Shamsi Gives A Sharp Reply To A Fan About The SA vs PAK 2024 Series

South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi recently delivered a sharp response to a fan’s remarks on social media regarding his participation in South Africa‘s upcoming series against Pakistan next month.

This followed comments by South Africa’s cricket director, Enoch Nkwe, who confirmed that Quinton de Kock, Shamsi, and Anrich Nortje remained committed to South African cricket and would be considered for ICC events. In response to a user on X claiming they had moved on from the trio, Shamsi replied:

“Maybe get your facts right before you start spreading hate. The tweet literally says we are FULLY COMMITTED to playing for South Africa. Just waiting for our chance when we are asked to play so we can try our best. I’m not sure whats so difficult to understand about that 🤔🤷‍♂️

Under the comments of that post, the fan responded:

“A fully committed person would not even have to make that decision because it would be obvious that he will play if they were “fully committed.”

Shamsi replied:

“A ‘fully committed player’ doesnt selected himself to play for the country. This is the national team not my father’s team where I can just walk in and say Im playing today or no Im not playing today. There are plans in place and intelligent people making the necessary decisions.”
