He might be aggressive on the field. But off the field, skipper Virat Kohli has got a very soft heart. He showed it once again during the practice session of the Indian team at Kolkata before the test series against Sri Lanka.
The Indian team’s practice sessions were on at Eden Gardens. Virat Kohli was facing Mohammed Shami. Virat missed a delivery from Shami which went on to hit a member of TV crew on his forehead. Immediately, the Indian skipper rushed towards him to check if he was doing alright. Mohammed Shami joined in and called team physio. Kohli resumed practice only after ensuring the member was doing well.
Virat needs big scores before the tour of South Africa. He scored a hundred at Galle this year but didn’t make an overall big impact in that series. The last time he scored big was in February this year against Bangladesh where he got 204 at Hyderabad.
There is a lot of talk going around about Virat Kohli’s break from international cricket. While many believe it’s already long overdue, some think he can go for few more months. Captain Kohli says he is not a robot and will ask for rest when he needs it.
“Definitely I do need rest, why don”t I need rest? When I think of the time my body should be rested, I”ll ask for it. I am not a robot you can slice my skin and check I bleed,” Kohli told reporters on the eve of India”s first Test against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens from Thursday.
