Anushka Sharma, wife of star batter Virat Kohli, penned a heartfelt note after the latter ended his century drought on Thursday, September 8, against Afghanistan. Kohli finally broke his century drought with a scintillating unbeaten 122 off just 61 deliveries, his 71st international century.
The former Indian skipper had to wait over 1000 days to notch up a hundred. While he has looked in decent touch, the three-figure mark eluded him. The wait finally came to an end at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where vintage Kohli was on display as he hit the bowlers seamlessly all over the park.
Following his special knock, Anushka Sharma shared a heartwarming message along with a few images on social media. In the series of photos, Virat was seen celebrating his century during the match. Virat Kohli also dropped heart emojis on Anushka’s post.
“Forever with you through any and everything,” Anushka captioned the post.

“I want to specially dedicate this hundred to her (Anushka) and our daughter Vamika” – Virat Kohli
Kohli, who had a broad smile on his face, looked relieved after reaching the three-figure mark. He has been through a lot during this period, with many urging the team management to drop him from the T20I side.
The talismanic run-scorer, who answered his critics in style, thanked his wife Anushka Sharma for standing by his side through thick and thin. He dedicated the knock to his wife and daughter. Speaking at the mid-innings break, he said:
“There was a lot of stuff going around. You can see all that is happening because of how one person has stood by me through thick and thin and that is Anushka. I want to specially dedicate this hundred to her and our daughter Vamika.
“When you have someone next to you, putting things into (the) right perspective, like Anushka has been by my side, it teaches you a lot of things.”
Virat Kohli will next be seen in action during the three-match T20I series against Australia which gets underway on September 20. ‘
