All eyes are on David Warner as the third Test between India and Australia begins tomorrow at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia skipper Tim Paine has articulated about his star opening batsman who has now recovered from his groin injury. Paine has admitted that Australia has selected their side but unlike India will not be releasing it before the match.
However, Paine has confirmed that Warner will make his return in the Aussie squad for the Third Test. Paine was all applause for Warner and stated that he performs with intensity and uplifts the confidence of his teammates around him. Warner has a stellar record at home as a Test batsman which he will be aiming to replicate at SCG.
David Warner is someone you love having in your side- Tim Paine
“We’ve got a team but we’re just not releasing it at the moment. The boys are still training so we’ll get through that first, unscathed and then we’ll try to get a team out as quickly as we can after that”, Paine was quoted as saying at a pre-match press conference.
“Obviously with David (Warner) playing and potentially more, there’s some conversations that need to be had first. Davey’s been awesome, he brings really high intensity and fills guys with confidence around him”.
“He’s a player that you love having on your side. He’s always got plenty to say, really energetic, very professional and I’ve always loved playing”, Paine said.
Meanwhile, the hosts are certainly under pressure after they convincingly lost the MCG Test. Australia will inevitably get a massive boost as Warner is all set to play the remaining two Tests of the series.
Tim Paine further stated that David Warner is the ultimate team man who helps the team in every department. Paine affirmed that Warner looked the part the nets and is excited to get going again and contribute in the next Test.
