Tim Paine’s Car Broken, Robbed During COVID-19 Lockdown

Australia‘s Test captain Tim Paine’s plan to train in his garage turned out to be fatal as he found his car broken into outside his house amid the coronavirus lockdown. Notably, Paine had moved his car onto the street so he could transform his garage into a home gym as he and other cricketers find creative ways to stay fit during the health pandemic.

But to Tim Paine’s dismay, the makeshift garage was only a day old before he was forced to reconsider his decision of parking his car outside his house in South Hobart. The Australia skipper spoke about the theft and said he was shocked to receive a message about unauthorised usage of his credit card.

Speaking further, Paine revealed that when he went outside to check he found his car broken while his wallet and few necessary things were taken away by the thief. Paine also joked about the thieves saying that they might have been hungry so directly went to a food joint.

“I woke up this morning to a message from NAB saying I had some interesting movements on my account,” he said. “I went out and the (car) door was open and my wallet and a few other things had gone. Actually looking at my account, the boys went straight to Maccas – the boys must have been hungry,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tim Paine said he was making the best of the slight change of plans to the opening weeks of his off-season, which he says has involved probably a bit more gardening and more time watching the Wiggles than it otherwise would have.
