TNPL 2023: [WATCH] Murugan Ashwin Takes A Spectacular Running Catch

In their Tamil Nadu Premier League match on Sunday in Dindigul, Dindigul Dragons defeated Siechem Madurai Panthers with a commanding margin of seven wickets.

In their Tamil Nadu Premier League match on Sunday in Dindigul, Dindigul Dragons thumped Siechem Madurai Panthers by seven wickets.

The Panthers were bundled out for just 123 after the Dragons decided to bowl first. Later, with seven wickets in hand, the hosts easily completed the target in just 14.1 overs.

The Panthers performed one act that completely astounded the crowd despite being on the losing side. Murugan Ashwin, a leg-spinner, caught S Arun’s ball in the air to dismiss him.

Arun played a shot on Gurjapneet Singh’s delivery during the fourth over of the Dragons’ chase. As Ashwin began to run backwards and dive brilliantly to take a stunner, the ball was already in the air.

Despite taking three early wickets, the Panthers were unable to prevent the hosts from winning because Baba Indrajith and Adithya Ganesh’s respective innings of 78* and 22* runs were not enough to bring their team to victory.

Gurjapneet Singh, who took all three of his team’s wickets, was the bowler of choice for the Panthers. The Panthers could only muster 123 runs in the first innings, with Jagatheesan Kousik scoring 45 and captain Hari Nishanth adding 24.

Varun Chakaravarthy took two, Saravana Kumar and Suboth Bhati three wickets each. In addition to them, the captain Ravichandran Ashwin and M Mathivannan each claimed one wicket.

In their upcoming match, the Dindigul Dragons will now take on the Chepauk Super Gillies on Wednesday, while the Siechem Madurai Panthers will face the Salem Spartans on Saturday.
