TNPL 2023: Ravichandran Ashwin Glad To Play Alongside With Varun Chakravarthy For The Dindigul Dragons

In the current season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2023), Varun Chakravarthy and Ravichandran Ashwin are teammates for the Dindigul Dragons.

The competition has Chakravarthy and Ashwin collaborating together, and Ashwin, the captain of the Dindigul team, expressed his excitement.

When they were bowling for Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings XI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), he remembered that the two didn’t have many opportunities to bowl together.

Glad we are at it for Dindigul Dragons because we couldn’t work with this fell when we were both at Kings. “

It is important to note that the Punjab-based franchise paid an incredible 8.40 crore at the auction to sign Chakravarthy in advance of the 2019 IPL season. The cunning spinner’s career did not get off to the best of starts, as he gave up 25 runs in his first over.

He played in just one game for Punjab before suffering a finger injury that prevented him from playing the rest of the season. After Chakravarthy was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for $4 crore prior to the 2020 season, his IPL career was given a new lease on life.

For the past few years, the 31-year-old has been an important part of the KKR team. He continued to play well in IPL 2023, taking 20 wickets in 14 games to finish as the team’s leading wicket-taker.

R. Ashwin and Co. Have a winning record to start TNPL 2023. On June 14 at the SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore, the Dindigul Dragons took on Ba11sy Trichy in the first game of the TNPL 2023.

The toss was won by Trichy, who elected to open the batting. They were unable to get going against the Dindigul bowlers, so the strategy backfired.

The best bowler was Varun Chakravarthy, who took three wickets and gave up just 21 runs from his allotted four overs. With the ball, captain Ravichandran Ashwin excelled as well, taking two wickets overall.

Trichy was ultimately fouled out, earning a below-average score of 120. A comprehensive six-wicket victory for the Dragons was achieved by chasing down the target in the 15th over. In terms of points, they are currently ranked third. At the NPR College Ground in Dindigul on Sunday, June 18, the team will play host to the Siechem Madurai Panthers.
