Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 91 runs in a one-sided encounter at DY Patil Stadium in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This heavy loss has put Delhi Capitals behind in the race for the playoffs. With this win, Chennai toppled Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to occupy the 8th position in the points table.

While chasing the target of 209, Delhi didn’t get a good start. They lost the early wickets of KS Bharat and David Warner. KS Bharat could manage to score only 18 runs. While Warner was dismissed on 19 runs by Maheesh Theekshana. Warner’s wicket was very crucial for CSK as Warner was in great form.

Delhi Capitals couldn’t recover from this huge blow and they soon lost the wicket of Mitchell Marsh. Marsh scored 25 runs in 20 balls. Rishabh Pant launched a couple of big hits but eventually perished. Ripal Patel and Rovman Powell too were dismissed on single-digit scores.

Chennai Super Kings kept on chipping with wickets at regular intervals. Delhi Capitals never looked like competing in the game. Moeen Ali was the best bowler for CSK. He picked three wickets in four overs giving away just 14 runs.
