KL Rahul is being heavily criticized on Twitter after his odd comments regarding David Warner’s injury. After the conclusion of the second ODI, KL Rahul in a virtual interaction was asked about Warner’s injury. It was expected that Rahul will give a mature answer regarding this but he ended up creating controversy after which Twitter erupted.
Early on in the second half of the match, Warner had injured his groin while he was attempting to save a boundary. Warner was successful in saving runs for his side but ended up taking a nasty fall and looked in trouble straight away. The physio rushed onto the park and he was immediately taken off the field. After a while, everyone saw visuals of Warner leaving the stadium and going to the hospital to get his scan done.
After Australia wrapped up the match it was made official that Warner will not take any further part in the white ball fixtures against India. When team India’s vice-captain KL Rahul was talking to the press this it was certain that this question was going to be discussed. Rahul started by saying that he has no clue about how bad Warner’s injury is and then suddenly sarcastically added that he hopes that the Australian is injured for a long time.

Surprisingly he then clarified his statements by adding that he wouldn’t wish anyone gets injured like that but till then the damage had been done. As soon as ESPNcricinfo posted Rahul’s video it went viral on Twitter, as users were stunned by the immature comments made by Rahul and his sense of humour landed him in trouble. Many questioned his sportsman spirit while others also added that he has learned nothing after the talk show controversy with Hardik Pandya.
“We don’t know how bad his injury is. It would be nicer if he gets injured for a long time. One of their main batsmen. It is not nice to wish it for anyone but it would be good for the team. If his injury takes a long time, it would be good for our team,” Rahul had said in the virtual presser.

Here’s How Twitter Reacted After KL Rahul’s Shocking Comments
I think Indian vc needs have a better taste in humour
I mean it's an injury, how can someone even mock on it
Play well instead of giving these kinda statements https://t.co/ZamZ2lszeN— CURLY PANDA 🐼 (@aarushi_45) November 30, 2020
And KL Rahul is a sportsman. He is wishing David Warner remains injured for a long time.
Where's the sportsman spirit?
Despicable! https://t.co/wzuBMlNpAd— Priyarag Verma (@priyarag) November 30, 2020

Not good even if it was for humour… we need to raise our game to match the Aussies and not wish them injuries so that their game drops to our current level..

This fellow didn't learn anything after koffee incident. Should never attend any kind of conference, anything related to answering questions in a camera.

Firstly, this ain't the coffee show.
Secondly, he is the vice captain now.
Should've thought twice before saying anything like this.— Head full of dreams (@Sruthisays_45) November 30, 2020
It may be a joke, it didn't sound right. pic.twitter.com/VjOrrDv6bE
