Although he was selected for the Duleep Trophy, he faced another setback when he contracted dengue a few days prior to the tournament, preventing him from participating in any matches.

Umran also participated in the last Ranji season, having played his most recent first-class match during that tournament in February. Throughout his first-class career, he has played 12 matches and taken 16 wickets.
The captaincy of the Jammu and Kashmir team has been entrusted to Paras Dogra, who will lead a squad that also features Rasikh Salam. Notably, Rasikh returns to first-class cricket after a five-year hiatus, having recently made a significant impact in IPL 2024 with the Delhi Capitals.
