It was a superb batting display by the Indian batters as they piled on 301 for 7 in 50 overs during the 2nd Pool A match against Ireland in the Under 19 World Cup match played at Mangaung Oval, Blofemntion on 25th January 2024.
Ireland captain Philippus le Roux won the toss and decided to field first. Adarsh Singh and Arshin Kulkarni showed intent right from the word go putting pressure on Ireland bowlers. Musheer Khan came to the crease after the fall of Adarsh Singh’s wicket. Khan looked impressive taking singles and hitting the bad deliveries away for boundaries.
Musheer and captain Uday Saharan stitched a lovely partnership keeping the momentum going for India’s Under 19 team. Both took singles and hit the bad deliveries for big shots. Musheer completed his half-century off 66 balls along with captain Saharan. Both Indian batters looked in decent touch keeping the scoreboard ticking making life tough for Ireland bowlers. Saharan also completed his fifty off 64 balls.

Musheer Khan and Saharan did not allow the bowlers to settle making sure that India Under 19 post a big total. Uday Saharan was dismissed caught at short third man. Musheer and Saharan added 156 runs for the 3rd wicket. Musheer Khan looked composed completing his maiden century off 100 balls. After completing his century, Musheer showed an array of strokes before being run out trying to take the second run.
He was eventually dismissed for 118 off 106 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes. Avinash Aravelly also scored a quickfire knock. It was a superb knock by Musheer Khan that kept the momentum going for the Indian team along with Uday Saharan. Arshin Kulkarni scored 32 runs while Sachin Dhas also provided some impetus smashing Riley for attacking shots in the 50th over.
Despite losing 2 quick wickets, the India Under 19 team posted a mammoth total of 301 for 7. Musheer Khan played innovative shots after completing his century and made sure that the Indian team went on to pile on a massive total.
