Unmukt Chand Retires From Indian Cricket, To Play For USA: Reports

As per reports in Times of India, former Indian U-19 skipper Unmkut Chand has decided to retire from Indian cricket. He will now play international cricket for USA. Chand confirmed his decision earlier today on his official Twitter handle. Despite winning a U-19 title for India, Chand was never reckoned to play for the senior team. He thus has decided to play for another international team after getting no backing from the selectors.

Unmukt Chand took to Twitter to officially confirm his decision to play for another country. He has thanked his friends and family and all other people who have supported him in his journey so far. He has posted an emotional message on Twitter as well.

Unmukt Chand To Play For USA

Chand also shared a video clip of the 2012 U-19 final against Australia. He scored an unbeaten 111 in a chase to help India win the U10 title.

The former Indian-U19 skipper had a brief IPL career as well. Having made his debut in 2011, he played 21 games and scored 300 runs with one fifty-plus scores. In the seasons that he plated, he played for Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils.

Chand would consider himself unlucky miss out on India cap due to the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma amongst others. With the standard of batting continuing to reach new heights in India, Chand fell prey to a rich vein of competition both an international and domestic level.
