Team India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has made headlines in the ongoing lockdown for his TikTok videos on social media. Some people enjoyed his videos, whereas players like Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli often made fun of the latter’s videos on social media.

Ever since the lockdown began, Chahal had been sitting at home since the outbreak of COVID-19. Chahal thought of making some videos on TikTok with his family members purely for entertainment purpose. In the videos, everyone witnessed his father, mother and sister joined him in the madness of those videos. Other than TikTok, he was also seen in a few Instagram lives of cricketers.

Chahal to quit social media

Yuzvendra Chahal recently spoke to Hindustan Times, where he said that he solely used TikTok for fun since he was with his family for a very long time.

“I used TikTok for fun. Lockdown gave me the time to use it, as there was nothing much to do. It was not specific, plus, we all were together after a long time [his family ] so it was quite an exciting experience,” he said.

He further said that he had been home for such a long time after nearly 14-15 years and wanted to enjoy this time to the fullest. Yuzvendra Chahal also said how he doesn’t plan on using much of social media after cricket begins.

“It’s almost after 14-15 years that I am home for such a long time. I have enjoyed my family time to the fullest. I do not plan to use much of social media when I get back. At the moment am just enjoying the fun part of it. If I get free time, then I use it. If something exciting comes up, then I make funny videos,” Chahal added.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many cricketers in India including Yuzvendra Chahal were unable to train. Meanwhile, players like Mohammed Shami, Cheteshwar Pujara and Umesh Yadav, and Suresh Raina have finally returned to training in their locality. It’s just time until we see cricket back in India as we gear up for this year’s IPL season which was cancelled earlier this year.
