India U-19 batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has once again faced age fraud allegations. Former Pakistan cricketer Junaid Khan, sharing a video of Suryavanshi’s impressive knock in the U-19 Asia Cup in the UAE, questioned whether a 13-year-old could hit a six over the venue’s rooftop.
Suryavanshi was India’s joint-highest run-scorer in the tournament, amassing 176 runs in five innings, matching opening partner Ayush Mahtre. His tally included two fifties: a blazing unbeaten 76 against UAE to secure a semifinal spot and a crucial 67 in the semifinal against Sri Lanka.
Junaid Khan shared a video of Suryavanshi’s semifinal innings on Instagram, where the 13-year-old smashed five sixes and six fours to earn the Player of the Match award in India’s seven-wicket win. The former Pakistan pacer raised doubts about the young batter’s actual age.
Junaid asked: “Can a 13-year-old kid really hit such a long six?”

“Vaibhav may undergo another age verification test”
Suryavanshi made history last month in Jeddah, becoming the youngest player ever sold at an IPL auction at just 13. The Bihar cricketer was picked by Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.10 crore.
Shortly after, allegations of age fraud surfaced, with claims suggesting he was actually 15. His father dismissed the rumors, stating that Suryavanshi underwent BCCI’s bone test at 8.5 years old and is open to another test if required.
“He has already played for India U-19. We fear no one,” he told PTI.
In March 2025, Suryavanshi will join the Rajasthan Royals, sharing the dressing room with Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and global stars like Jofra Archer. He will also have the chance to be mentored by Royals’ head coach Rahul Dravid.
