Former India legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was delighted to see his student Abhishek Sharma make his first T20I hundred in only his second international appearance.
Abhishek got a hundred of 46 balls against Zimbabwe in the second T20I match; however, he was unable to open his account in the recent international match on Saturday. Besides, Abhishek, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Rinku Singh made 77* out of 22 balls to make India reach a total of 234/2 in 20 overs.
In the first match of the series, in which Abhishek Sharma made his debut for the Indian team, he was dismissed for a duck. But he quickly came to make a hundred in the very next game to the one that he failed in, a third-fastest T20I hundred for India.
Abhishek scored the first international fifty in his career off 33 balls; he then took only 13 more deliveries to get his maiden international hundred. The explosive opener slogged three sixes in a row and reached his three-figure mark in style.

Abhishek Sharma’s game-winning performance for India in his second international debut prompted the BCCI to post a special conversation with him. After hitting a few boundaries, the opener said he knew it was his day and made the most of the occasion.
He had used the bat of his opening partner and close buddy, Shubman Gill for the match. With a 100-run victory over the hosts, India leveled the series 1-1, and Abhishek was named Player of the Match.
“Well done, very proud. You deserved it. There are many more to come; this is just the start,” Yuvraj said on the video call with Abhishek Sharma.
The five-match T20I series is tied at 1-1, with the third match scheduled for Wednesday.
