The stylish Australian left-handed batter, Shaun Marsh announced retirement from all forms of cricket. He had a wonderful career for Australia and in the domestic circuit. His final match will be for Melbourne Renegades against Sydney Thunder in BBL 13.

He followed his teammate Aaron Finch who played his last BBL game against Melbourne Stars on 13th January 2024. Shaun Marsh did not play a few matches for Melbourne Renegades this season. He has played just 5 games this season with 181 runs at 45.25. Out of six half-centuries, Melbourne Renegades during BBL 13, Shaun Marsh scored 3 of them.

Marsh scored an unbeaten 64 off 49 balls against Melbourne Stars on Saturday and helped Melbourne Renegades register a comprehensive victory.

“I have loved playing for the Renegades, I’ve met some great people over the last five years and the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime,” Marsh said. “This playing group is special. They’ve been amazing to me, amazing teammates, and even better friends.

“Our members and fans are some of the most passionate out there and I’m so thankful for their support over the journey. Stick with us, there’s a huge amount of talent in this group and I have no doubt they’ll lead this group back to the top.”

Shaun Marsh played a key role for Perth Scorchers in winning them titles. He moved to Melbourne Renegades during the 2019-20 season and has been part of this franchise since then.

Shaun Marsh International Career For Australia

Shaun Marsh played a key role for Australia in international cricket. He made his Test debut on 8th September 2011. Since his debut, the left-handed batter played a total of 38 matches (68 innings) and scored 2265 runs including 6 centuries and 10 half centuries. His best test score was 182 in the first Test match against West Indies at Hobart.

Marsh featured for the final time in white clothing during the 4th Test match against India in Sydney where the match ended in a draw due to rain. He made his ODI debut on 24th June 2008 against West Indies. The left-handed batter played a total of 73 matches (72 innings) and scored 2773 runs including 7 centuries and 15 half-centuries with the best score of 151.

His final ODI match was against Sri Lanka during the 2019 World Cup match at Oval on 15th June. Marsh played just 15 T20I matches in his entire career and scored 255 runs with a best score of 47. He featured in his T20I encounter against India on 31st January 2016.
