Mujeeb ur Rehman “s delivery to dismiss Gayle was chosen the “Nissan play of the day” in yesterday”s match.
Afghanistan locked horns against Windies in the super six phase of the ICC qualifiers.
Gayle, who was expected to come out all guns blazing failed miserably as he was dismissed for just 1 run. Thanks to the unplayable delivery of Mujeeb that knocked his stumps off.
Windies posted just 197/8 on the board. Afghanistan won the match by three wickets and Mujeeb ended with fine figures of 10-1-33-3.
In the post-match presentation, Mujeeb said “I don”t have any problem with the new ball as I play with it in the nets. I am very happy that the entire team supports me especially Nabi and Rashid, who gives me the confidence when bowling.”
It is to be noted that both of them will represent KXIP in this year”s IPL and will play under Ravichandran Ashwin.
Scotland now leads the super six points table and they will be hoping to finish this tournament on a high.
